Trust freshness, coverage, and provenance

Know where a number came from, when it was observed, and what it cannot prove.

01

Name the source

A crawl, Search Console import, analytics connection, rank observation, backlink check, bot log, and AI answer are different evidence types. Use the source label before comparing values.

02

Check the observation time

A report can be current while an integration inside it is older. Read both the page generation time and the underlying source timestamp. Timezone and reporting delay matter when a release happened recently.

03

State the denominator and boundary

Coverage may mean crawled URLs, sitemap URLs, monitored prompts, imported rows, or observed bot hits. A percentage is useful only when the denominator and scope are clear.
