Configure and interpret Rank Tracker

Store repeatable country, language, device, URL, and result feature observations.

01

Define the observation

A tracked term needs a country, language, and device. These settings make checks repeatable and explain why another person can see a different result from a casual search.

02

Review the full result context

Position alone can hide the ranking URL, result features, or a competing page. Check which URL appears and whether the result contains an answer panel, local pack, or other feature that changes click opportunity.

03

Separate point checks from Search Console

Rank Tracker records a controlled observation. Search Console reports aggregated impressions and average position from real search activity. Use both, but do not expect identical numbers.
